Our sessions begin with a warm and comprehensive initial intake, where we'll delve into your unique needs and aspirations, paving the way for the formulation of a personalized treatment plan. As we progress through subsequent sessions, we'll collaboratively work towards achieving your goals. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a proven method for reducing emotional distress and fostering effective coping skills. To enhance your progress, you may find engaging in brief homework assignments between sessions beneficial or ensuring a more holistic and tailored approach to your therapeutic experience.
In the therapeutic relationship, both of us play integral roles with clearly defined rights and responsibilities. As a client, you hold certain rights and responsibilities crucial for the success of our journey together. Understanding these aspects is key to creating an environment that fosters optimal development. Legal limitations to these rights will also be outlined to provide clarity and transparency for breaking confidentiality such as: suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, if a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person(s), if a client intends to harm himself or herself, it is my duty to make every effort ensuring their safety.
Your first session, a foundational 50 minutes, sets the tone for our work together. Subsequent sessions will be 45 minutes in duration, occurring weekly or as needed, at a consistent time we mutually agree upon. While our regular schedule supports our progress, flexibility is embraced, allowing for sessions to be adjusted based on your evolving needs. Please note that tardiness deducts from your session time to respect the schedules of other clients. Missed appointments or cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice may incur a fee.
Understanding that your concerns might extend beyond scheduled sessions, I strive to maintain open lines of communication. While I may not always be immediately available during business hours, I diligently monitor voicemail and email, aiming to respond within 24 hours. In emergency situations, your safety is paramount, and appropriate local services should be utilized.
Your feedback is invaluable, and I encourage open dialogue about your therapy experience. If you're dissatisfied or feel the need for change, we can explore options that best suit your well- being. You have the right to a considerate, safe, and respectful therapeutic environment, free from discrimination. Rest assured that maintaining professional boundaries, including abstaining from exploitative relationships, is paramount in our journey together.
