Trauma: Coral Gables

Trauma therapy in Coral Gables.

In-person trauma work at the Salzedo Street office, sequenced so that stability comes before processing, always, and without exception for people in a hurry.

In-person office: 3081 Salzedo Street, Suite 202, Coral Gables, FL 33134

The Sequence

How trauma work is paced here.

  • Stabilization first: grounding and resourcing you can use outside the room
  • A map of what we work on, and in what order
  • Processing in contained sets, not marathon sessions
  • Body-based work for what language does not reach
  • Closure at the end of each session, deliberately
  • Reassessment out loud rather than assumed

You control the detail

You are not required to narrate everything. EMDR in particular allows a great deal to be processed without a detailed spoken account, which is one reason people choose it.

Nothing is opened faster than you can close it again before you walk back onto Salzedo Street.

Where a higher level of care is appropriate, Amber will say so directly and help you find it.

More on Trauma Work in Coral Gables

Before and after a session

Trauma sessions are easier when the hour around them is planned. It can help to arrive a few minutes early, and to book a time when you do not have to go straight back into a meeting afterward. Telehealth is available for weeks when the drive itself is too much.

Your say in the pace

You decide what gets talked about and when. Pausing, returning to stabilization, or working on something present-day for a while are all legitimate choices, not detours.

The free 5 to 10 minute consultation is the place to ask whether this fits what you are dealing with. You do not need to explain everything on that call.
