Self-Esteem & Self-Doubt

Your accomplishments say one thing. The voice in your head says another.

For people whose accomplishments never quite make it inside, where every success is filed as luck, timing, or the moment before being found out.

What It Sounds Like

The internal commentary nobody else hears.

  • Deflecting praise before it can land
  • Rehearsing conversations for hours afterward
  • Apologizing as punctuation
  • Needing to be the most prepared person in the room
  • Taking one piece of criticism over ten pieces of praise
  • Choosing the smaller ask because the larger one feels presumptuous

Where the voice came from

Self-criticism is learned somewhere, and it usually had a job at the time: keeping you safe, keeping you accepted, keeping you moving. We trace it back far enough to see what it was for, which tends to loosen its authority more than arguing with it does.

How the work is shaped

CBT for the automatic conclusions, IFS for the critic as a part rather than the truth, psychodynamic work for the origin, and self-compassion practices that build a second voice rather than deleting the first one.

We also work on behavior (asking, declining, taking up the space) because self-worth shifts through what you do at least as much as through what you understand.

You don't have to keep feeling stuck in the same patterns.
