Background

How Amber came to this work.

  • Anxiety
  • Relationships
  • Emotional Intensity
  • Life Transitions
  • Clinical Supervision

Amber has studied psychology for over 15 years and graduated with honors from New York University with a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling and Wellness. She is a Florida Qualified Supervisor and is licensed in both Florida and New York.

Her clinical experience spans anxiety, relationship difficulties, emotional intensity and borderline personality, trauma, addictions, disordered eating, and work with autistic adults and teens. Her scope is not limited to that list, the through-line is people who look capable from the outside and feel stuck on the inside.

Approach

My Framework

Amber's approach is built around each person rather than a single model. She most often combines behavioral, cognitive, person-centered and psychodynamic perspectives, with DBT, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy and rational-emotive work as her primary modalities.

Her framing is that therapy is not only understanding why you feel a certain way, it is using that understanding to respond differently, with structured goals and skills you can actually use between sessions.

Working With Amber

Getting started

Begin with the free 5 to 10 minute consultation. It is a short conversation to see whether working with Amber fits what you are looking for, and to talk through timing and whether in person or video suits you better.

Sessions run 50 to 60 minutes, and a 48-hour cancellation policy applies.

In person or by video

In-person sessions take place at the practice's offices in Coral Gables, Coconut Grove and Manhattan. Video sessions are available anywhere in Florida or New York, as long as you are physically in one of those states during the session. Ask on the consultation call where Amber is seeing clients.

The practice does not provide emergency services. In a crisis, call or text 988, or dial 911.

A free 5 to 10 minute consultation is a good place to start.

Tell us a little about what brings you here and we will find a time to talk.
